Michael began his career in film after recognizing his love of telling stories. His experience as a marketing director, film editor, copywriter, illustrator, festival programmer and acquisitions executive have all informed his work as a writer and director.
Michael’s work can be described as simple moments transformed. Whether it be to create humor or drama, he enjoys juxtaposing the everyday with the absurd in ways that delight the viewer and playfully catches them off guard.
His award-winning films and music videos have screened internationally, including the Film Society of Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Banff World Media Festival, where he earned a Rockie Award for Best Pilot for American Wife, starring Kristin Booth and Patrick McKenna.
Most recently, Michael has collaborated with advertising agencies, including Rethink and Anomaly, in telling commercial stories.
